Background

In between acting and modeling, Ashley pursues her second passion...sports. "She grew up walking on her toes, jumping over furniture, walking the top board of the backyard fence and was very strong for a small child", "I knew I had to channel that energy so I put her in dance and gymnastics" her mother said. This obviously was the right decision as Ashley excelled in both gymnastics and dance. Starting at the age of 3 Ashley was involved in 3 dance studios, and participated in many recitals and special programs, but that didn't curve her energy or lust to do more. At age 5 Ashley entered the gymnastics community and within a year was on the gymnastics team. At age 7 Ashley began to compete and won many awards over the years.

During a gymnastic practice Ashley sustained a severe back injury that caused 4 chipped discs in her back. Ashley worked with her doctors and physical therapists, and with some convincing after time she talked the doctors into allowing her back to the gym but only for beam and floor routines. Ashley returned to gymnastics but it wasn't the same. Ashley realized her gymnastic dream was over and a gymnastic scholarship was out of the question so she decided to retire from gymnastics, but not for good. Ashley became a gymnastic coach to help others excel.

This left time on her hands so it was time to look for new projects to go after. Ashley went to watch her brother during one of his karate classes. This sparked an interest in Ashley.  After discussing it with her doctors, and they saw no reason she couldn't participate, Ashley joined the Martial Arts community. Her strength from her pervious sport helped her to excel in karate at an amazing rate. Competitions began immediately at local and state wide events. Ashley advanced up the ladder quickly and at age 17 was in the adult division so competed against women up to age 32. Ashley is a fighter and not one to tell she can't do something. Ashley went on to win many championships from local to national to international competitions.

Ashley competed until she left for college, but still holds on to all she was taught and uses her training in her workouts and work related events. Ashley also coaches privately to help other athletes prepare for special up-coming competitions.
